A classically trained vocalist, Nick spent much of his youth aspiring to become an opera singer. That is, until he encountered the Lord. Nick gave up the career he had been working towards to become a youth minister, then church music director, then pastoral associate, then director of marriage and family life ministries for the Diocese of Toledo. Nick was the co-host of the internationally acclaimed podcast “The Catholic SIP,” and hosted a 3 minute daily scripture reflection called “Awaken the Word” heard on Catholic radio stations around the country and online. Nick has served as musician and speaker for Dynamic Catholic, Renewal Ministries, Extraordinary Mission and Life Teen retreats, conferences and events. He is now the president of Awaken Catholic, whose mission is to awaken hearts and minds to the beauty, truth, healing, and power found in the Catholic Church. Currently, Nick hosts “The Awaken Catholic Show,” and “The Nick De La Torre Show,” and composes music with his wife Alina.
